6pm-9 pm - Long Buckby Community Centre
£45 per couple including cake/fruit and
refreshments. Please register interest early
for next workshop date.
The aim of the workshop is to empower the partner to empower the birthing mother. During the workshop we will cover breathing for birthing, a variety of supported and non supported birthing positions and relaxation. You will experience the power of the breath as a guide through experiencing (safe) pain. There will be time to express and discuss concerns for both parents and some gentle simple massage techiniques.
It felt like a wonderfully indulgent time for me and my baby and was invaluable for me. Yoga in pregnancy is a great opportunity to stop and listen to your body at such a hectic time.
Birth Preparation Workshops
All workshops take place at
Long Buckby Community Centre.
During pregnancy, the body and mind are on a rapid journey of change, and practicing pregnancy yoga can be the perfect way to look after yourself both physically and emotionally.
Yoga for pregnancy provides gentle exercise to stretch and strengthen the rapidly changing body. It brings positive awareness to posture which helps to prevent many common pregnancy related ailments and gives you the opportunity to spend valuable, quality time focussing on your baby growing inside.
When you are pregnant, your ligaments relax, your centre of gravity changes regularly, the immune system is compromised, breathing can become less easy and energy levels often drop. Pregnancy yoga exercises are designed to prepare and aid the body through pregnancy and birth by strengthening, stretching, stabilising and developing postural awareness. They enhance breath awareness, improve circulation and energy levels, and also include useful positions for labour.
Whilst being a joyful process with a truly wonderful result, the journey of childbirth is into the unknown, and there is a lot to take in, consider, decide, plan for and face up to. Breathing and relaxation techniques taught in yoga allow the mind to let go and focus, mental tension melts away, sleep improves, the immune system strengthens and you are left with greater confidence and acceptance looking forward the forthcoming events, preparing you perfectly for what will be the most wonderful experience of your life.
Barney is now on the move so don't think we will be able to join the next session,
I want to thank you so much for all the classes pre and post pregnancy, not only did I make some fab friends, but I found the classes so great, being wrapped in a blanket heavily pregnant at the end of your sessions and drifting off to sleep was my most relaxing part of my week.x (I miss those Weeks)
I loved bringing Barney to the post pregnancy classes and meeting up with all the other mums I had seen pregnant for so long, pure joy.x
I hope to see you again (never say never)
Wishing you all the best, you are so fab at what you do! I loved being apart of it all.

"Thank you so much for the pregnancy and baby yoga lessons, and thank you for your words of reassurance throughout. The classes have been brilliant and have really helped me stay calm and confident. It has been much more than an exercise class to me. Your classes have majorly influenced how I am as a mother.
Thank you so much."
The postnatal yoga has been a wonderful way of learning how to play and have fun with my young baby. The exercises felt beneficial without being too strenuous and it has been great to get out and meet people.
"To be honest I didn't really know what to expect but have really enjoyed all of the sessions and they really helped with my back and I always sleep amazingly well on a Monday night."
Thank you so much for all your help, advice and support over the last year. Becoming a mum has been a challenging experience for me but your classes have been an emotional life line for me. Despite my birth experience your classes helped me prepare physically and mentally, without your classes I think I would have been a nervous wreck arriving at the hospital, but instead I was clam and relaxed.
Since Giles's arrival I've found your classes a safe, comfortable environment to talk and sometimes cry! I really don't know where I would be without them.
Your support and advice has been invaluable to me and of course I have also met some great new friends and little people!
Thank you for everything.
